Love and marriage have always been favorite topics in this forum, and I mean it in a positive way.

Glad to see your insights on the issue, which I believe is fundamental to human society. At lease it is for a child.

From scientific point of view, I believe "Love" is nothing more than a manifestation of a strong but short acting hormone. Good appearance may play a role in initiating the production of this hormone. But how to define "good appearance" is in the context of culture. There are African tribes who believe 300 lb women are beauties. The heavier, the better.

The good marriage, however, roots from the bond that the couple have built over the foundation of "Love". The bond has to do with the habits, the way the couple cope with stress, the sharing of family responsibilities, the willingness to give in sometimes, and the respect of partner's differences, etc.

A good marriage is the marriage in which a couple meet in the middle from time to time.
